Business Licensing
Obtaining a business license is an important and fulfilling step in your journey to becoming a business owner. We are here to help you along the way! Our business license regulations can be found in Section 5 of the Municipal Code. |
The Business Licensing Division issues commercial business licenses as well as alcoholic beverage licenses, home occupation licenses, special/single event licenses, and solicitor’s/peddler’s licenses. It also manages renewals and processing business licensing fees.
Verify your business is within Vernal City Limits
The State of Utah has developed a One-Stop Online Business Registration Website that streamlines the process of registering a new business. The site is available 24 hours a day. It will guide you through a series of questions designed to comply with federal and state government registration requirements. NOTE: When your Utah State registration is completed, you'll receive the necessary licenses/registrations and account numbers. You will need to print a copy or save a PDF of those documents. If the nature of your business is any of the following, you will need to contact the Tri-County Health Department to complete all of their requirements.
Any business that serves and/or makes food or handles unpackaged foods in any way
- Pools or spas that will have public access
- Tattooing or piercing establishments
- Tanning beds open to the public
- Underground storage of gas for public access
- Used oil collection sites
