City-Sponsored Social Media Guidelines 


The City of Vernal recognizes that social media can enhance communication between City government and citizens. City of Vernal social media sites are used to: (1) increase the City’s ability to broadcast its messages to the widest possible audience, (2) provide public information updates, and (3) disseminate time-sensitive information as quickly as possible.

BASIC GUIDELINES:

  • Vernal City reserves the right to remove content that is in violation of it’s social media policy

  • All contributors are to be respectful of others

  • All contributors are to avoid using profane language or content

  • Although social media channels are regularly monitored; social media channels should not be used as a way to communicate emergency information to the City
